Job Description

The Design Engineer will be a key member of the Product Evolution Process at SynQor, focusing on the design, development, and improvement of cutting-edge power systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze high-power converters, including AC/DC, isolated DC/DC, and non-isolated DC/DC converters.
  • Develop and implement circuit designs using Mentorgraphics Power Logic and PCB Layout.
  • Write microcontroller code in C and Assembly.
  • Conduct circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE, Mathcad, and PLECS.
  • Design planar magnetics and identify and evaluate power components.
  • Participate in vendor selection and work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to transition products to production.
  • Create design documentation according to SynQor processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; MS/PhD degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics design or minimum of 3 years of graduate-level coursework in power electronics with an emphasis on power systems design.
  • Knowledge of circuit theory, isolated and non-isolated converters, with an emphasis on design for manufacturability.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic, high-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • MPLAB X - C and Assembly.
  • Mentorgraphics Power Logic and PADs.
  • Microcap.
  • Previous experience in a hi-tech manufacturing environment.
