About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration team as a Psychiatrist in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and administrative oversight to ensure the success of our BHIP program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient care to Veterans with mental health disorders as part of an integrated team of psychiatrist providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and clinical pharmacists.
  • Administer and coordinate performance standards and evaluations, clinical skill evaluations, workload evaluation, competencies, efficiencies, and all other personnel-related responsibilities.
  • Serve as the clinical lead and consultant for BHIP psychiatry and psychiatric providers.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with clinical and/or administrative supervision, management, and/or program coordination.
  • 5 years post-residency psychiatric experience.
  • 1-2 years leadership/managerial experience.
  • Experience with Veterans and/or military populations.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Alternative work schedules and work station options may be available to meet the needs of the clinic.
