ResponsibilitiesThe Psychiatrist - MD will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and providing medical/clinical services to individuals in crisis. This includes intervention, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, patient education, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
The attending psychiatrist will complete initial psychiatric assessments, court-ordered evaluations, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, patient education, progress toward treatment goals, and discharge planning.
The psychiatrist will also document individuals' progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including admission orders, progress notes, and discharge orders. They will oversee the delivery of medication education and consent, order laboratory tests according to clinical practice, and review health assessments completed by nursing staff.
The psychiatrist will assess individuals' needs, guide the clinical team, and manage treatment plan updates. They will also initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians, review and utilize available documents from the crisis clinical team, and provide necessary information to the clinical team regarding inpatient utilization.
The psychiatrist will work with the community to review involuntary petitions, assess involuntary patients, and coordinate with the legal system to follow established guidelines for Court-Ordered Evaluation and Treatment.
QualificationsWe're looking for a Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine with 3 years of post-doctoral experience in the delivery of mental health treatment. The ideal candidate will be licensed by the State of Arizona, eligible for Board Certification, and have an unrestricted DEA license.
