About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Psychiatrist to serve as the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Coordinator and Supervisory Psychiatrist at the Tucson VA Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the administrative and clinical aspects of the BHIP program, which includes supervising a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative oversight and program development for BHIP, including supervising team members and coordinating performance standards and evaluations.
- Serve as the clinical lead and consultant for BHIP psychiatry and psychiatric providers, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to best practices.
- Provide outpatient psychiatric care to Veterans with mental health disorders, working collaboratively with an integrated team of healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes and program efficiency.
- United States citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in all US states
- Residency training leading to eligibility for board certification
- Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- Experience with clinical and/or administrative supervision, management, and program coordination
The Department of Veteran Affairs offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
