Job Summary

A Host/Hostess at Village Inn is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming experience for guests. This role involves maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus, and accepting phone calls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests to the restaurant and put them on a waiting list as necessary.
  • Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions.
  • Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas.
  • Assign guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind to ensure servers receive the right number of customers.
  • Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with their food and service.
  • Respond to complaints and help resolve them.
  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
  • Collect payments in cash or credit.
Requirements
  • Must be 16 years old and meet any other state age or labor requirements.
  • No one under the age of 18 may operate, clean, adjust, or touch a slicer, mixer, or other equipment.
