Area Director, Replenishment Job Description

US Foods is seeking a highly skilled Area Director, Replenishment to join our Supply Chain organization. This role is a key position within our Replenishment Team, responsible for overseeing all replenishment and inventory management activities in a specific Area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor all replenishment related performance metrics for the Area.
  • Drive improved performance on key metrics, including Target Service Levels, Optimal Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH), Spoilage & Inventory Adjustment, and Freight Optimization.
  • Oversee all replenishment and inventory management activities in the Area, including Replenishment Execution, Inventory Management, and Purchase Order (PO) Management.
  • Root cause and address major stock outs and anticipated shorts, and finalize recovery actions for long-term outages.
  • Work closely with the Buyer team to resolve discrepancies through CASIS and provide local ownership and accountability for overall service performance and special events.
Team Leadership:
  • Manage a large team of Replenishment Leads, Buyers, and Operations Support Specialists for the Area.
  • Oversee, manage, and monitor all Replenishment activities of the team.
  • Ensure coordination and information flow between Buyers and Support Specialists.
  • Build a strong culture of customer service, collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related fields, or related experience and/or military experience.
  • 7 years of work experience managing operations and leading teams within core supply chain functions, specifically supply planning, inventory management, vendor management purchasing, or other food service/distribution related functions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage and coach large teams of supply chain talent, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and draw linkages with business impact.
  • Familiarity with analytics and supply chain planning and buying systems, and ability to synthesize key information and present in both sales meetings and customer-facing calls to influence key decisions.
