Pavement Engineering Manager

As a key member of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Pavement Section Manager provides technical leadership to the department in the areas of pavement design, construction, maintenance, and evaluation technologies. This position is responsible for managerial direction to the Pavement Engineering Section, including the Structural Pavement Design, Bituminous Engineering, Concrete Engineering, Advanced Materials and Technology, and Pavement Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in pavement materials and mixtures, test procedures, equipment capabilities, mix design, pavement design, soil engineering, and mechanics.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient and economical public transportation systems.
- Develop and implement policies, rules, standards, and procedures, including the implementation of new specifications.
- Supervise staff and establish relationships with stakeholders and interest groups.
- Develop and manage budgets, including the allocation of resources.
Requirements:
- Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
- Five years of post-registration experience with three years at the Engineer Principal level.
