Zermount Inc. is on the lookout for a skilled Zero Trust (ZT) Process Re-Engineer. This role is pivotal in crafting and refining policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), standards, and guidelines essential for secure and resilient information technology (IT) systems, adhering to the ZT strategy and maturity model. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating new documentation and re-engineering existing IT and cybersecurity workflows to align with ZT principles, thereby enhancing the organization's security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess requirements and directives outlined in relevant Executive Orders and memorandums.
  • Analyze and redesign the organization's current IT and Cybersecurity documentation and workflows to align with ZT principles.
  • Deliver a gap analysis report to pinpoint areas needing improvement for ZT compliance.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to continuously update documentation reflecting the implementation of ZT principles across all aspects of the ZT Maturity Model.
  • Create guidelines, SOPs, and best practices for ZT implementation and management.
  • Assist in developing the enterprise ZT Common Control Catalog.
  • Support updates to the organization's ZT Strategy, Implementation Plan, and roadmap.
  • Conduct regular audits of IT and Cybersecurity documentation to ensure adherence to ZT principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address policy document deficiencies affecting ZT implementation.
  • Manage policy inquiries and support the client in interpreting IT public policy initiatives.
  • Conduct research to assist with policy inquiries using various approved documentation sources.
  • Review and update Cybersecurity documentation using an Agile approach.
  • Create new ZT policy documents as necessary to address identified gaps or changes from mandates.
  • Modify existing IT and Cybersecurity-related policy SOPs and technical standards.
  • Document detailed business process maps and flow charts.
  • Gather insights from subject matter experts to develop comprehensive procedure manuals and technical reference materials.
  • Drive standardization through defined documentation templates.
  • Perform quality reviews of deliverables to ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in IT cybersecurity, including direct support for government entities in roles such as Policy Analyst or Process Engineer.
  • Familiarity with NIST Guidelines and FISMA Cybersecurity compliance.
  • Understanding of ZT principles, methodologies, and relevant federal directives.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust frameworks and technologies.
  • Technical expertise in complex enterprise IT systems.
  • Ability to analyze system documentation and identify gaps in policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with diverse audiences.
  • Experience in analyzing Cybersecurity and Risk Management principles.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Technical understanding of IT and Cybersecurity concepts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent writing skills for clear and concise documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with clients in sensitive situations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute for degree).

Certifications:

  • At least one recognized security certification such as CAP, CISSO, CISM, or CISSP.

Clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance required.
