Gulfstream Strategic Placements is seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive project bids by reviewing and analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
  • Evaluate materials, equipment, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies in the estimating process.
  • Lead and supervise junior estimating personnel, ensuring consistency in processes and estimate accuracy.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data and databases, ensuring that current market trends and pricing are reflected.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, with a strong focus on commercial mechanical construction projects.
  • Proven knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, piping, and controls, and a strong understanding of commercial building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with cost estimation software such as Bluebeam, MS Project, Trimble AutoBid, and Autodesk tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated local and stable work history, with experience in San Diego or the broader Southern California region preferred.
