Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a manufacturing production team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. They will provide leadership and direction for their team in a way that motivates them to meet all productivity, safety, and quality goals. They are driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help both their team and company meet production standards. They normally will lead a team of 10-20 team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment is maintained and a safety-first mindset is promoted among team members.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Drive safety excellence by promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Recruit, schedule, and supervise full-time staff and temporary workers as needed.
  • Provide coaching, corrective feedback, and administer disciplinary actions as necessary to ensure team members meet performance expectations.
  • Conduct timely quarterly and annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Foster team development, growth, and employee skill development, problem-solving, and resolution.
  • Oversee process documentation and training program procedures to ensure consistency of operational tasks, safety, and cleanliness of the workplace.
  • Ensure high-quality products are produced and all quality processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve quality, streamline efficiencies, and reduce operating expenses.
  • Monitor productivity and track efficiency improvements, operating within budgeted costs using lean manufacturing procedures and cross-training.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control procedures to achieve inventory accuracy goals.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, such as calculating percentages and volumes.
