Industry-Focused Academic Leader (Open Rank)
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming seeks exceptional candidates for the role of Industry-Focused Academic Leader. The selected individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing innovative courses, and conducting impactful research in the fields of Petroleum Engineering and Subsurface Energy Engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline, with a proven track record of excellence in industry practice and a passion for teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. We are looking for faculty who will cultivate an environment of excellence and inclusivity, enhancing the department's efforts to attract and retain a diverse student population.
The successful candidate will address the evolving challenges within the oil and gas sector and the growing demand for expertise in Subsurface Energy Engineering.
Compensation and rank will be commensurate with relevant experience.
REMOTE WORK POLICY:
This role is essential for supporting campus stakeholders and requires the candidate to be present on campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Over 10 years of demonstrated industry experience
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration in research and education
- Experience in practical industrial applications
- Prior teaching experience in higher education
- Experience in grant writing
