Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning: Assist students with special needs in a classroom setting, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with certified teachers to implement special strategies and interventions, reinforcing material and skills based on individual student needs.
  • Provide Positive Role Models: Serve as a positive role model for students, treating them with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Assist with Administrative Duties: Assist with non-instructional duties, such as supervising students during breaks and lunches, and providing support with administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Passing score on the Para Pro Test or other state-approved assessment program, or 48 college credits or Associate Degree.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members, and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move in and out of offices, classrooms, and buildings, and to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Computer Literacy: Ability to use computer software and technology, including Google Meets and Google Classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual: Ability to speak and communicate in a second language.
  • Experience Working with Children: Prior experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
