Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in implementing special strategies and interventions to reinforce material and skills for students with special needs.
  • Provide positive role models and treat students with respect and dignity.
  • Assist with teaching process, working directly with children to provide class support in academics, social skills, self-care, and vocational tasks.
  • Assist with addressing student behavior and encouraging effort in the classroom.
  • Use online platforms and technology to support instruction and communication.
  • Complete onboarding process, including familiarization with students' IEPs, district policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate with teachers regarding student progress and goal attainment.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Passing score on the Para Pro Test or 48 college credits or Associate Degree.
  • Ability to work with children in a school setting, with prior experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to move around the school, lift materials, and assist students as needed.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn assistive technology.
  • Bilingual preferred.
