Job Summary/Basic FunctionThe Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, professor of practice faculty position in Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will have a distinguished career in cybersecurity who is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity, including areas such as network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cyber risk management, networking, and cloud security.
- Develop and update curriculum and coursework to ensure alignment with industry standards and emerging trends.
- Foster strong relationships with industry partners to support internships, research opportunities, and collaborative projects.
- Mentor students in practical applications of cybersecurity principles and prepare them for careers in the field.
- Contribute to the development of new programs or certifications in cybersecurity, potentially including partnerships with industry certification bodies.
A master's degree in information systems, cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Required Related ExperienceFive (5) years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as network security, ethical hacking/pen testing, incident response, or cyber defense is required.
Required License/Registration/CertificationA CISSP, CISA, CISM or a comparable certification is required.
Other DesirablesApplicants with a terminal degree will receive special consideration.
