AUTOMATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER - ENTRY-LEVEL CANDIDATES

The preferred applicant is a recent graduate in engineering with a keen interest in automation and control systems. Background in life sciences, chemical or industrial engineering, energy, or manufacturing is advantageous.

  • The primary objective of a Proconex systems engineer is to enhance the operational efficiency of clients across various sectors.
  • Gain expertise in the specification, design, and configuration of programmable logic controllers (PLC), Emerson DeltaV distributed control systems (DCS), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and data historians (OSI PI).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to suggest and evaluate modifications to equipment and processes.
  • Develop engineering documentation, along with operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Formulate commissioning and validation test plans for a variety of process and utility systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in engineering with a focus on control systems design and implementation.
  • Internship or co-op experience that provides a technical foundation in automated systems.
  • Basic understanding of processes and familiarity with engineering documents, process control, networks, and application engineering.
  • Initial exposure to structured methodologies for manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with Emerson DeltaV and/or Allen Bradley controllers is preferred.
  • Experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or similar FDA-regulated sectors is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and executing test plans for factory floor systems is beneficial.
