Job Title: Supply Chain Accounting Lead

Job Type: Contract

Location: Remote Opportunity

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Accounting Lead to join our team at BCforward. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing supply chain accounting and controls for a global client. You will partner with various functions, including sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and engineering, to maintain a well-controlled environment and produce accurate external financial statements in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
    • Provide accounting expertise and business partnership across the supply chain organization, focusing on inventory, supplier financing, leases, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
    • Collaborate with other functions to improve processes that interact with accounting and improve results through strong relationships.
    • Communicate with senior leadership to drive the accuracy of financial results, functional excellence, and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization.
    • Build functional excellence in accounting capability across the supply chain organization and ensure balance between GAO strategy and business needs.
  • Accounting & Controls Excellence:
    • Follow and comply with US GAAP and current financial legislation for financial results and ultimate financial statement preparation.
    • Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures, controls, and processes, developing sustainable solutions for identified control gaps.
    • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
    • Participate in the GAO Supply Chain Accounting & Control Global Community of Practice.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with SEC and US GAAP requirements.
    • Effectively communicate with internal and external auditors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • 5-7 years of experience in accounting and controls.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.) and ability to navigate multiple technologies.
    • Results-oriented, proactive, agile, and able to navigate a complex organization.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and influence across the organization.
    • High level of efficiency and accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to analyze large amounts of data.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • SAP experience.
    • Supply Chain/CPG experience.
    • Big four public accounting experience and/or public company experience.
