About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Preventative Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. As a key member of our facilities team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotels and restaurants.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all equipment, systems, and building components, including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, and other equipment.
  • Build, repair, and paint all parts of the hotel, including installing and replacing lighting fixtures and bulbs.
  • Clean carpets and rugs, visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, and listen for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment, install new or repaired parts, and repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  • Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures, attend scheduled training classes and meetings, and paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas as needed.
  • Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs, assist in delivering and setting up new equipment, and communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a hotel engineer or comparable maintenance experience at an establishment such as an apartment complex or office building.
  • Ability to be flexible and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
