- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment and systems are properly maintained and repaired.
- Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance of all facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to maintenance technicians to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in building and preventative maintenance, preferably in a zoo or similar environment.
- Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other recognized trades. Experience with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to lead and motivate a team, and to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
This position requires a variety of moderately heavy physical activities, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions. Exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals, heat, cold, noise, dust, and fumes. Requires lifting of up to 80 lbs.
