Position Overview:
As a Field Commissioning Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the testing and operational management of offshore substation (OSS) and wind turbine generator (WTG) auxiliary systems, alongside their associated control mechanisms. Your responsibilities will encompass various systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, water treatment, diesel storage, and emergency power supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the testing of offshore substation equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Act as the onsite representative to witness, inspect, and validate commissioning activities and documentation.
- Uphold electrical health and safety protocols during all operational tasks.
- Authorize and supervise electrical operations as the designated electrical authorized person.
- Manage and document commissioning processes both onshore and offshore.
- Monitor OSS commissioning progress and generate necessary reports.
- Assist the Commissioning Manager in project planning and preparation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with the OSS commissioning As-Built Documentation handover process.
- Review technical documents, procedures, and schedules for accuracy and relevance.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of commissioning, isolation, and energization plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with a focus on mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical construction or related sectors.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting technical documentation including drawings and specifications.
- Experienced in testing and configuring electrical equipment along with associated measurement tools.
- Proven track record in supervising low and high voltage electrical work, including safety and isolation programs.
- Familiarity with overseeing construction activities in diverse environments, including offshore and on vessels.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, potentially up to 50% of the time.
- Current passport and valid driver's license are mandatory.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications for offshore work, including NERC authorization and GWO training.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, particularly with non-native speakers.
