About the Role

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Electrical Systems Specialist. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of electrical systems and a strong ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to critical and highly complex electrical system operations and control functions within the business.
  • Develop and modify policies and practices to improve the overall operational effectiveness of PacifiCorp's electrical system.
  • Lead development and implementation processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate policies, procedures, and other documentation to ensure all aspects of electrical operations are in accordance with company safety procedures, legislative requirements, and meet all relevant standards.
  • Supervise local technical personnel and develop and review daily and weekly schedules as required.
  • Analyze schemes and prints and prepare field notebooks and outlines for installation of electrical equipment.
  • Work with engineers and operations staff to resolve system and design issues.
  • Provide training as needed for various departments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of the power system.
  • Assessment skills including problem diagnosis and identification of proper methods and techniques to resolve and prevent future problems.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal and external customer issues.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds.
  • Expert knowledge of current technologies, tools, systems, and vendors.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.
  • Understanding of applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively translate technical jargon into layman's terms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising technical personnel.
  • Project management skills.
