Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment
- Plan, prioritize, and assign work to staff involved in maintenance and repair activities
- Manage fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they are properly maintained and operational
- Oversee and coordinate with vendors and service providers to perform maintenance and repairs
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks, including system checks and inspections, and repair and replacement of mechanical and electrical components
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including scheduled maintenance, completed maintenance, and inventory conditions
- Operate vehicles and equipment for the purpose of transporting, moving, and testing fleet vehicles
- Properly maintain shop equipment, vehicle lifts, and tools through routine inspections
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
- Possession of a valid California Class B driver license
- Two (2) years experience or equivalent in fleet vehicle maintenance/management
- Thorough knowledge of automotive repair and equipment mechanics
- Retirement: California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS)
- Health Insurance: City pays approved health insurance premium through CalPERS for employee only and partial dependent costs
- Dental and Vision Insurance: City pays approved dental and vision insurance premiums for employee only and partial dependent costs
- Life Insurance: City provides $50,000 life insurance coverage for employee only, buy-up options are available
- Vacation Allowance: two (2) weeks paid vacation after one (1) year, three (3) weeks after five (5) years, four (4) weeks after fifteen (15) years of employment
- Sick Leave: Accumulated at a rate of one (1) day per month with no maximum accrual
- Deferred Compensation: Option to participate in plans through Mass Mutual, Nationwide Solutions, or ICMA-RC
