Job Summary

The City of Los Banos, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance and repair of our fleet vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign work to staff involved in maintenance and repair activities
  • Manage fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they are properly maintained and operational
  • Oversee and coordinate with vendors and service providers to perform maintenance and repairs
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks, including system checks and inspections, and repair and replacement of mechanical and electrical components
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including scheduled maintenance, completed maintenance, and inventory conditions
  • Operate vehicles and equipment for the purpose of transporting, moving, and testing fleet vehicles
  • Properly maintain shop equipment, vehicle lifts, and tools through routine inspections
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public
Requirements
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
  • Possession of a valid California Class B driver license
  • Two (2) years experience or equivalent in fleet vehicle maintenance/management
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive repair and equipment mechanics
