Wound Care Center Coordinator

Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with center leadership to maximize daily patient census
* Participate in staff meetings to support key functions within the center
* Greet patients and other visitors, answer and route calls to appropriate staff
* Maintain all patient communication needs, including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders
* Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services
* Collect and enter patient charges in databases
* Verify and reconcile charges as directed, prepare monthly patient survey data, and transmit to providers
* Assemble new patient charts, maintain and file existing patient charts, and spot check charts for data completeness and signatures
* Coordinate/schedule ancillary testing with other hospital departments
* Arrange for patient transportation as needed
* Maintain office equipment and supplies as needed, and medical supplies as directed
Requirements:
* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate's degree preferred
* Minimum of Two (2) or more years office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; Prior medical coding experience preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Good customer, interpersonal, and communication skills, both orally and in writing
* Organization and time-management skills
* Ability to type 60 words per minute (wpm)
* Basic math skills
* Attention to details
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects at the same time
* Ability to work with others and in a team environment
Hourly Rate:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $18.84-$24.55 Per Hour
This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications: education, experience, geography as well as operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
