Join Our Team as a Mobile Equipment Technician

PALFINGER is seeking a skilled Mobile Equipment Technician to provide on-site service for our customers' truck-mounted machinery.

This role operates remotely, with the technician working independently in various locations. The position reports directly to the Regional Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field repairs and diagnostics on articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers, exercising a high level of independent judgment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and conduct Annual DOT inspections and warranty services.
  • Respond to emergency and unscheduled repair requests during both regular and off-hours.
  • Effectively communicate mechanical issues and necessary repairs to site and fleet managers.
  • Ensure timely completion of service documentation, including estimates, work order authorizations, parts ordering, labor, and inventory records.
  • Adhere to all state and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle, job site equipment, and work areas.

Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and welding.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift over 75 lbs for extended periods.
  • A minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience or training, particularly with articulating cranes and forklifts.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • A valid CDL driver's license is required or the willingness to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
  • Personal tools are required; PALFINGER proprietary tools will be supplied.
