The Culinary Director is responsible for:

  • Developing and managing camp menus, ensuring they meet nutritional guidelines.
  • Ordering and preparing food while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Supervising kitchen staff and volunteers to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating with camp management to align menu offerings with camp objectives.
  • Implementing and overseeing dining hall procedures to enhance the dining experience.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and execute menus tailored for large groups.
  • Manage food budgets and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of food supplies.
  • Prepare meals and coordinate food service with kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • Current Safe Serve Certification.
  • Training in food service management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team.
  • Experience in menu planning and large-scale food preparation.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods.
