At Aramark, we're seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Le Moyne College. As a Cook, you'll play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our guests. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and passion for food while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to standardized recipes and production guidelines.
- Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as needed.
- Safely use utensils, including knives, and operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods to prepare meat, vegetables, and other foods.
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Cook or in a related role is required.
- Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations is necessary.
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
- Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
