At Lewis Drug, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team.
Job SummaryThis is a professional-level position that requires a graduate degree in pharmacy and licensure as a pharmacist. The successful candidate will work in a retail, healthcare, or closed-door setting, compounding and dispensing prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and practices.
- Provides excellent customer service to all customers and associates.
- Maintains a productive work flow in the Pharmacy department when the Chief Pharmacist is not on duty.
- Authorizes and approves associate purchases in the Pharmacy.
- Maintains and enforces all company policies in the Pharmacy department.
- Makes sure that all functions of the Pharmacy comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Must exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound, independent judgment, initiative, and a high standard of ethics.
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time and lift moderate weights.
- Must be able to use a team approach in solving problems and giving direction on a daily basis.
- Must be organized.
- Education, Experience, and Licensure:
- College Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Must have and maintain a current license from the Board of Pharmacy of the state of practice.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move quickly from one workstation to another.
- Work with full range of hands, wrists, and arms.
- Constantly positions self or moves about the pharmacy to access product and supplies.
- Ability to lift/move items up to 40 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and less than 10 lbs constantly.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction.
- Must have depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
- Must have ability to communicate verbally with staff and patients.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
