Key Responsibilities
  • Commit to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Stay informed about Federal, State, and Municipal regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies regarding trucking operations.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Implement cost-effective strategies by collaborating closely with drivers, dispatchers, and technology.
  • Train and educate drivers on new systems as needed.
  • Assess equipment and staffing needs for daily operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate driver dispatching.
  • Manage daily workloads through effective dispatching practices.
  • Monitor and maintain employees' daily assignments.
  • Work with drivers to enhance their driving skills.
  • Provide dispatch and road supervision.
Qualifications We Seek
  • Associate degree or 5 years of progressive experience in trucking.
  • Preferred: Commercial driver's license, Class A.
  • Strong understanding of Department of Transportation laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with operating a Class A tractor and trailer is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of XATA driver management and truck routing systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of inhaul/backhaul procedures.
  • Experience in a unionized work environment and knowledge of time and attendance protocols.
  • High initiative and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
