Core Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize pet health and well-being through engaging daily activities.
  • Provide personalized service by getting to know the dogs and their owners, aiming to exceed expectations through relationship building.
  • Create a joyful and loving atmosphere where dogs feel comfortable and happy.

As a Trainer, you will:

Maintain exceptional customer service and communication standards. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions while maintaining a positive demeanor in all interactions are essential. Collaboration and teamwork across all departments are vital, along with adherence to Puppy Paws' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Our training philosophy is rooted in love and positive reinforcement. The training team is dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment.

Position Details:

This is a full-time role with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays and evenings for group training sessions.

Key Duties Include:

  • Upholding Puppy Paws' Core Values.
  • Demonstrating reliability, as we care for beloved pets.
  • Being open to learning and enhancing your skills through ongoing education.
  • Contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Interacting confidently with dogs of all sizes.
  • Ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for dogs by following our Dog Safety SOP.
  • Working independently on assigned tasks while being receptive to guidance.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Being physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Exhibiting a consistent work ethic and clear communication.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients to schedule appointments.
  • Managing multiple tasks in an organized manner.
  • Maintaining accurate client and pet records.
  • Providing clients with necessary information and instructions.
  • Utilizing our computer systems for documentation and communication.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism.
  • Educating clients about pet care.
  • Conducting temperament assessments for new clients.
  • Engaging with the Puppy Paws team and dogs daily, focusing on behavior and training techniques.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions.
  • Demonstrating empathy towards clients and treating pets with compassion.
  • Conducting facility tours and participating in off-site events.
  • Leading group training sessions and individual training.
  • Delivering formal presentations effectively.
  • Observing and assessing dog behaviors to identify suitable training methods.
  • Possessing strong organizational skills.
  • Applying critical thinking to evaluate various solutions.
  • Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to manage stress.
