Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Engineering team at OU Health. As a Licensed Facilities HVAC Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing unit-specific and facility-wide HVAC preventative maintenance and repair solutions that enhance and support operational and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researches, designs, and implements HVAC preventative maintenance and repair solutions to optimize operational performance.
  • Ensures the conditioning of hospital spaces meets the level of care and use associated with the space, providing a healing environment for patients.
  • Maintains, repairs, and installs equipment to improve indoor air quality, including UV lighting in air handlers.
  • Completes preventative maintenance tasks on time to ensure compliance with the hospital's utility maintenance program.
  • Maximizes performance through efficient use of computer systems, including building automation, pneumatic tube, closed-circuit television, paging, access control, and fire alarm systems.
  • Determines operational requirements and needs for developing solutions and optimizing performance of existing HVAC, Refrigeration, and Building Automation equipment and systems.
  • Supports users of applications, equipment, and systems with timely implementation and ongoing maintenance of HVAC equipment and building automation applications.
  • Maintains and enhances technical knowledge and skills.
  • Stays up-to-date with contemporary and best practices through training, education, and benchmarking with colleagues.
  • Continuously improves processes, systems, and services, using tools and equipment appropriately.
  • Provides information necessary to maintain metrics designed to measure effectiveness and responsiveness to work order tickets.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in HVAC Technology required.
  • 1 or more years of work experience as a licensed HVAC technician required, with experience in healthcare preferred.
  • State of Oklahoma Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman's license and Technician Type Universal EPA certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and interpret regulations associated with The Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care chapters, National Fire Protection Act (NFPA), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Oklahoma State Department of Health, and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA).
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with others and discuss complex concepts and systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment associated with healthcare HVAC systems.
