D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently seeking a Loan Closer. The ideal candidate will be tasked with efficiently closing various types of mortgage loans assigned, ensuring high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing all pre-closing documentation to verify compliance with established guidelines, including contracts, hazard insurance, and other necessary documents.
  • Entering required closing information into the loan operating system.
  • Preparing and distributing closing documents to the settlement agent.
  • Examining closing conditions, verifying signatures on documents, and clearing conditions once met.
  • Authorizing loan funding.
  • Providing assistance to the branch regarding closing-related inquiries.
  • Supporting other loan closers during high-volume periods.
  • Assisting in the resolution of any post-closing issues as necessary.
  • Conducting all business in a professional and ethical manner to enhance customer satisfaction and promote the goodwill and profitability of the company.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to travel overnight when required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution.
  • One to two years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written or oral form.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and email applications.
  • Capability to sit for the majority of an 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers for handling tasks; reach with hands and arms; and communicate effectively.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision and peripheral vision.
  • The work environment is generally moderate in noise level.

  • Familiarity with various mortgage loan types is advantageous.
