Key Responsibilities- Manage the residential real estate loan origination function, ensuring timely and profitable sales of loans in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures.
- Determine outside loan origination staffing needs, hire staff, and develop a competitive compensation structure.
- Develop and implement loan marketing strategies to establish a lending presence in assigned geographic areas, soliciting business through development and maintenance of a mortgage referral network.
- Develop and implement origination procedures, manage the origination staff, set goals, and monitor and evaluate the originators' call efforts and performance.
- Train and provide support to loan origination, processing, and underwriting staff.
- Manage, review, and implement the bank's secondary market function, negotiating contracts with secondary market investors, managing the buying and selling of loans to the secondary market, and preparing various reports to monitor secondary market sales.
- Act as liaison to Secondary Market Investors, train lending staff, and implement secondary market procedures.
- Makes loan approval decisions for Residential R.E. Loans and Consumer loans within assigned authority.
- Prepare various reports for Audit Committee, Management, and Investors.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related area.
- Five years or more lending experience in a related position.
- Solid knowledge of real estate lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives for the real estate lending department.
- Proven organizational, analytical, planning, communication, and negotiation skills.
