- Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage repair teams, including tradespeople, technicians, and subcontractors, providing direction, support, and training to team members to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Quality Control and Safety: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards, enforcing safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or incidents.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding ship repair projects, addressing client inquiries, providing project updates, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, monitoring and controlling project expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budget constraints.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and compliance with regulations, preparing and presenting regular progress reports to senior management.
- 5-10 years of experience in Marine Construction Supervision, and tradesman experience at the journeyman level in a Marine Construction Field
- BA/BS plus 2 years in a related field or AA/AS plus 4 years directly related experience
- Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Project
- Knowledgeability on modern shipbuilding, including the creation and use of build strategies, master schedules, product work breakdown structures, material requirement planning, product modeling, work order creation and budgeting, resource loading, and detailed scheduling
- Previous journeyman experience in a shipbuilding trade
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
