Position Overview

The State of Vermont is looking for a dedicated Healthcare Financial Systems Analyst to contribute to the analysis, visualization, and application of healthcare data in the regulation of the state's hospitals and healthcare framework.

This role is part of the Health Systems Finance Team, where the Analyst will support financial oversight activities related to the budgeting and reporting processes of Vermont's Community Hospitals and the Brattleboro Retreat. Responsibilities will be carried out under the guidance of the Director of Health Systems Finance. Additional tasks will involve investigating and reporting on price transparency, as well as utilizing financial data platforms like Tableau to maintain current data and reports, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency.

The work environment is remote and flexible.

Eligibility

This position, Healthcare Financial Systems Analyst, is available to all State employees and external candidates.

Work Environment

The position is primarily office-based, although travel may be necessary, and personal transportation should be accessible. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Required Qualifications

A minimum of an Associate's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, business administration, or a related field, along with two or more years of experience in accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, or analysis, including program management or funding oversight.
Alternatively, four or more years of relevant experience in the aforementioned fields is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in budget review is highly desirable.
