Job Overview:

The Primoris Renewable Energy (PRE) O&M division is seeking a highly skilled HSEQ Specialist to join our team. This is a field-based role that requires up to 80% travel to project sites throughout the continental U.S. The successful candidate will report to the HSEQ Manager and provide on-site HSEQ support for multiple projects involving various renewable energy scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their work safely and efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain the Integrated Management System on assigned project sites.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain the HSEQ Manual to meet project-specific needs.
  • Collaborate with the HSEQ Manager, Technical Services Manager, and Operations Managers to design work instructions and improve processes.
  • Inspect work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, and take corrective action.
  • Manage injury and illness cases, provide support to affected personnel, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support the HSEQ Manager in maintaining and revising the Integrated Management System, collecting and communicating data, and assisting with documentation management.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a general industry or construction environment, with a strong preference for energy industry experience.
  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, Technology, or a relevant Applied Science from an accredited institution.
  • OSHA 501 or 500 certification, BCSP certification, or ASQ certification in a relevant field.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of current OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, DOT, and EPA standards and guidelines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with customers, customer representatives, and PRE O&M personnel.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and collaborate with staff at all levels to drive continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental, quality development, and process improvement.
