About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience as a field construction project engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Provide project managers and superintendents with administrative resources as directed.
  • Schedule Management: Assist project managers in creating and distributing project schedule baselines and updates, as well as short-term 3-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Contract Administration: Assist in preparing and distributing subcontract agreements and proposals/change order checklists.
  • Document Control: Create, manage, and track all documents between offices, from field to architect and to project manager.
  • Contract Compliance: Coordinate, monitor, follow up, and review contract requirements.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain control, compile, organize, analyze, and update project-related documentation.
  • Inspection Coordination: Coordinate and maintain inspection documentation for the project.
  • Plan Understanding: Comprehensively understand plans, project drawings, specifications, and subcontract agreements.
  • Certified Payroll Reports: Prepare certified payroll reports, accumulating subcontractor reports and ensuring accuracy.
  • Communication: Attend owner meetings on behalf of the project manager and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high-level customer service and interaction with sub-contractors.
  • Code Compliance: Comprehensively understand applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex issues related to change orders and pay applications.
  • Mentorship: Mentor PA's (I and II) on core responsibilities and work closely on assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or any engineering-related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a field construction project engineer.
  • Fast learner with ability to create an immediate impact within the company.
  • Broad understanding of construction field work, especially tenant improvements and renovations.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with construction contracts, drawings, federal, state, county, and city regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Procore and Primavera P6 or ability to use specialized construction software.
  • Leadership skills, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Self-starter with tact, judgment, and a highly developed sense of responsibility.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
