About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Specialist to join our team at AH Rocky Mountain. This is a full-time position working days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Patient Safety Initiatives: The Patient Safety Specialist will provide support and direction in developing a culture of safety and identifying opportunities to enhance patient safety.
  • Monitor and Track Safety Events: The specialist will monitor and track the safety event reporting system and maintain confidential documentation on investigations.
  • Lead Patient Safety Efforts: The specialist will lead, support, and facilitate the use of tools and implementation of systems/processes that identify patient safety risks, promote a culture of safety, reduce patient harm, and improve high reliability healthcare.
  • Analyze Patient Care Information: The specialist will analyze patient care information from multiple data sources and report on results.
  • Coordinate Serious Reportable Events: The specialist will coordinate serious reportable events and sentinel event communication and follow-up with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Share Patient Safety Lessons Learned: The specialist will share patient safety lessons learned and safety alerts across the organization and coordinate collaborative patient safety efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing, allied health, or healthcare-related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital/acute care, with 2 years within the past 3 years.
  • Licensure: Current Colorado state license in the field of study as required based on degree.
