We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team at Tandym Group. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of scalable viral vector manufacturing using mammalian cell line platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and execution of experiments at benchtop scale for research, development, and evaluation of novel cell culture processes and scale-up of AAV technology platform
- Contribute to the development and optimization of bioreactor processes, including media development, feed development, and bioreactor scale-up
- Collaborate with the research team to collect and analyze data, and present findings to the upstream development group or broader internal audience
- Ensure high-quality documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks and technical reports
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance duties, including inventory management and lab cleaning
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Chemical/Biochemical/Biomedical Engineering or related scientific discipline with 0-3 years academic/industry experience
- Strong math and science fundamentals, particularly in solution/dilution math, molecular biology, and fluid mechanics/engineering principles
- Excellent collaboration, team-working skills, and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique in a BSL2 lab
- Experience with suspension culture, recombinant viruses, cell and molecular biology, biological assay, and/or transient transfection
- Experience with bioreactors, downstream purification, and data analysis (Excel/JMP/Prism)
