Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Event Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Jewish Community Center. This role will support the successful execution of events, ensuring a seamless experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup and Teardown: Assist in the setup and breakdown of rental spaces, including staging, lighting, sound, and hospitality components.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support for lighting and sound boards, as well as basic understanding of other lighting and audio equipment.
  • Logistics Coordination: Assist with the reset of event materials and supplies, ensuring everything is organized and returned to its designated place.
  • Attendee Assistance: Provide assistance to patrons as needed, including answering questions and directing them to appropriate areas.
  • General Support: Perform other tasks as needed to support the successful execution of events, including assisting with special requests from event organizers.
  • Hospitality: Assist in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for our patrons.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in event support roles is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of stage equipment and event logistics is beneficial. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that involve physical effort.
  • Availability: Daytime availability is required and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on event schedules.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with sound and lighting systems.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role or event-related environment.
  • Basic technical knowledge related to audio-visual equipment.
  • TIPS Certification.
