Key Responsibilities

HDR is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Business Group. The successful candidate will collaborate on studies and detailed design as well as construction services for various water-related projects. In this role, you will be expected to:
  • Independently develop comprehensive designs for pump stations, collection/distribution systems, and water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Prepare technical drawings, write specifications, and produce analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater systems, including determining suitable design methodologies, equipment sizing, and cost estimations.
  • Act as a project manager or support project managers throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity.
  • Experience in evaluating, designing, and developing specifications for water/wastewater treatment facilities and pump station projects is highly desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-driven, possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), pay close attention to detail, and be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential; experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management software is a plus.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
