Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our team in Pennsylvania and Ohio. As a key member of our civil works section, you'll work on structural engineering for local and national dams, levees, and civil works projects. Your expertise will be essential in developing scopes of work, budget estimates, and implementing project analysis work plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our Dams Levee and Civil Works team to develop scopes of work and budget estimates.
  • Conduct structural analyses, evaluations, and designs, and develop design options or recommendations with supporting calculations.
  • Review structural documents and coordinate design with all disciplines.
  • Develop design plans, sections, and details as part of multi-disciplinary design teams for civil works projects.
  • Conduct design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  • Perform engineering assignments that require critical thinking and creativity to address unique design elements.
  • Write and edit specifications, select procedures, materials, and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculations for various structure types.
  • Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project.
  • Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance and comment resolution.
  • Assist with condition assessment for various hydraulic structures.
  • Provide structural engineering services during construction, including construction observation, inspections, submittal and RFI reviews, and ITC responses.
Requirements
  • BS Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required; MS Civil Engineering a plus.
  • Ohio and/or Pennsylvania PE, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • 10 years structural design experience required.
  • Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications in Civil Engineering.

The expected compensation range for this position is $103,670 - $148,100 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
