At Albany Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). About the Role

This clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests. They will also document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing physician orders and administering medications as ordered
  • Starting IVs and performing treatments, procedures, and special tests
  • Documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules
  • Evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
  • Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
Requirements
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
