Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Stewarding Manager to join our team at the Grand Traverse Resort. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Stewarding department, ensuring that all duties are completed efficiently and effectively, and maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute the Stewarding department's daily operations, including supervising staff and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity within the department.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including dish rooms and storage facilities.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Banquet and Food and Beverage, to ensure seamless execution of events and services.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Stewarding staff.
  • Manage budgets and inventory, ensuring that all resources are utilized effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent experience in Food and Beverage or Stewarding Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and driving business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals. The role will also require the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as participate in on-call rotations.
