Job Summary

The Adjunct Health and Nutrition Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students enrolled in courses at Lamar State College Port Arthur, including dual credit high school students. The schedule varies depending on campus needs and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes, as well as online classes. Flexible scheduling and online work arrangements are available, depending on course type and configuration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality instruction and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards, adhering to the policies and procedures of the Texas State University System, Lamar State College Port Arthur, and other relevant institutions.
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings and participate in departmental and institutional activities.
  • Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training.
  • Demonstrate good time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Comply with policies and procedures impacting Lamar State College Port Arthur.
  • Demonstrate skill in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Perform specific adjunct duties related to the teaching assignment.
Requirements

A Master's Degree in Family and Consumer Science, Biology, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in Family and Consumer Science, Biology, or a related field may also be considered.
