Job Title: Food and Beverage Manager

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham is seeking a seasoned Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and a positive atmosphere for our guests and associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily Front of House and Back of House restaurant operations to ensure seamless service.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer complaints, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage food and beverage inventory, ordering, and receiving, including liquor, beer, wine, and food.
  • Audit inventory levels to ensure product availability and order products as necessary.
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors to maintain high standards.
  • Prepare weekly schedules for bartender, barback, and server staff to ensure adequate coverage and adjust staffing as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices and appraise staff performance, providing feedback to improve productivity.
  • Ensure readiness for internal and external audits, such as Alcohol Awareness, Food Safety/Sanitation, Health Inspection, Safety Training/Certification, etc.
  • Manage the restaurant's image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses.
  • Perform opening and closing tasks, including checklist completion, cash handling, and deposits.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of restaurant management experience.
  • Experience managing FOH and BOH teams, including Bar/Beverage program oversight and knowledge.
  • Legally able to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently, lead, manage, and motivate a team.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
  • Extensive working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations related to alcohol service and health code compliance.
  • Competency in resource management and inventory control.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, personnel management, and marketing.
