Position Summary

The Housekeeping Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of guest accommodations and shared spaces. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation, ultimately contributing to guest satisfaction and revenue enhancement. The Housekeeping Attendant is tasked with preparing rooms for incoming guests in accordance with the brand's established cleanliness and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather supplies from storage areas and prepare cleaning carts, ensuring that all equipment and materials are organized and accessible for efficient room cleaning.
  • Thoroughly clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in guest rooms and common areas, utilizing ladders or stools for hard-to-reach spots to uphold a pristine environment.
  • Sanitize bathrooms by cleaning shower walls, tubs, toilets, and sinks, ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-maintained.
  • Restock room amenities, including towels and toiletries, and replace any soiled or damaged items to guarantee a pleasant experience for guests.
  • Manually clean hard floor surfaces to remove dirt and maintain a polished appearance.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall decorations, using appropriate tools to reach high or difficult areas.
  • Change bed linens and check bedding for cleanliness, replacing items as necessary.
  • Inspect closets for cleanliness and replenish guest supplies, such as hangers and extra bedding.
  • Vacuum all areas, including rooms and hallways, while moving furniture as needed to ensure comprehensive cleaning.
  • Check the functionality of door and window locks, reporting any safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Assess room equipment, including TVs and lamps, for proper operation and report any maintenance issues to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Safeguard all cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring their proper use and storage.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and team members.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support the overall operation.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Complete any other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations as mandated by local, state, and federal laws.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Any necessary licenses or permits as required by law or company policy.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to effectively interact with both internal and external customers, demonstrating patience and diplomacy.
