About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Housing Support Specialist to join our team at Mental Health Association, Inc.

As a Housing Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to youth and young adults who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness.

You will be responsible for connecting with local organizations, schools, and community providers to identify and support individuals in need of housing services.

Your goal will be to help individuals secure permanent housing and provide ongoing support to ensure their continued tenancy.

To succeed in this role, you must have strong interpersonal skills, patience, and compassion.

You should also be able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

A valid driver's license, sufficient insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required.

In addition, you should be able to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with local organizations, schools, and community providers to identify and support individuals in need of housing services
  • Help individuals secure permanent housing and provide ongoing support to ensure continued tenancy
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each participant
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for participants

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Previous experience working with those experiencing homelessness and/or at-risk youth
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and compassion
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Valid driver's license, sufficient insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • Certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid
