Opportunity Overview

We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our Risk division. This position will allow you to make a substantial impact on our engineering team in the US. You will be tasked with the implementation and maintenance of backend microservices, collaborating closely with frontend and cross-functional teams to manage intricate deliverables. Your role will involve conducting research and providing valuable insights regarding team decisions. You will have the chance to engage with various domains, including:
  • Real-time fraud detection with customizable rules
  • Machine learning models as microservices
  • Event data stream ingestion to support near real-time fraud rule configuration
  • Advanced A/B testing capabilities for customer utilization of algorithms to combat fraud
  • Robust tools and innovative data science solutions for business users
  • A comprehensive risk management ecosystem
Your Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-availability APIs and distributed systems, utilizing AWS as the tech stack. Java will be the primary programming language for the existing codebase, with Java Spring Boot as the framework.
  • Demonstrate strong computer science fundamentals, along with a solid understanding of OOP/OOD and GoF design patterns.
  • Exhibit proficiency with the Java stack and JVM, including memory/performance tuning and garbage collection.
  • Develop Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, and implement Message Queues within a Distributed/Scalable Architecture.
  • Utilize Spring Framework (Spring Boot), Hibernate (or similar ORM), Maven, and Git effectively.
  • Create unit tests, integration tests, and CI/CD scripts.
  • Take ownership of, monitor, and enhance our services in production.
  • Engage in the development and testing of high-quality product features across multiple domains.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers, architects, engineers, and QA to devise innovative solutions that align with market demands regarding functionality, performance, reliability, and development timelines.
  • Act as a technical leader; research and advocate for new technologies and tools.
  • Address technical challenges related to performance, fault tolerance, security, and live production issues.
  • Participate throughout the service lifecycle, influencing every phase of development.
  • Become part of a dynamic and fast-paced team.
What We Seek in You
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Development.
  • Proficient Java developer; familiarity with other languages (C++, Python, Go, Rust) is advantageous.
  • Knowledgeable in various databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
  • Experienced in distributed systems and microservices.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and drive cross-team solutions with complex dependencies.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and a problem solver with a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Java Spring Boot is highly desirable.
  • A keen interest in becoming an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape, understanding the operations of speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, and financial institutions.
  • Background in disruptive technology with successful product launches, ideally within FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Digital Wallet sectors.
  • A strategic, analytical, and execution-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with product management processes and tools.
  • Experience in machine learning.
  • Ability to work with teams across different offices and time zones.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is a plus.
