Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Coordinator-II to join our team at Mass General Brigham. This part-time role will be responsible for providing administrative support in a clinical setting, performing a variety of patient service and administrative duties, and coordinating diagnostic tests, referrals, and appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to patients and staff in a clinical setting
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests, referrals, and appointments
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information
  • Prepare billing and collect co-pays
  • Collect and analyze data to generate quality assurance reports
  • Provide basic information to patients and triage phone calls
  • Order medical records and register patients
  • Schedule patient appointments using an automated or manual system
  • Ensure patient forms are completed accurately
  • Verify patient demographics/EDI insurance verification
  • Collect co-pays and assist with training/orienting of new staff
  • Perform and participate in special projects as directed
  • Act as a liaison with other hospital departments and PHS affiliates
  • Provide functional guidance to Levels I & II EEs
  • Participate in department or hospital-wide committees
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably in a clinical setting
  • HS Diploma required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and database systems
  • Accurate typing and word processing skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a certificate and Associate degree in Business related or Medical assisting program or Equivalent
Work Environment

This part-time role will be based in a clinical setting and will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
