Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at Kenda Tires. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring conformity to internal and customer specifications, performing 1st piece inspection of production parts, and approving incoming and outgoing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee quality assurance and control throughout the company.
  • Responsible for the care of quality inspection equipment in the plant and warehouse.
  • Inspect for internal compliance with established specifications.
  • Audit departmental processes to ensure procedures are followed and all pertinent documentation is completed.
  • Inspect and document returned goods from customers accurately.
  • Notify management of any quality issues that affect production or customer.
  • Inspect outgoing material before shipment.
  • Work with department supervisors and company management to identify and correct product/process areas of concern.
  • Perform ISIR and PPAP's.
  • Understand the calibration of quality measuring equipment.
  • Communicate and assist in correcting customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Document quality information into established spreadsheets.
  • Practice good housekeeping skills throughout the quality department and associated areas.
  • Report to the Quality Manager.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and some Access desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years quality assurance experience.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, pi tape, dial indicators, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of working with the ISO 9000 Quality Management System a plus.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques a plus.
