Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Mechanic - Field Service Technician to join our team at Darr Equipment Co.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert technical support and maintenance services to our customers in the field, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of their heavy equipment and material handling systems.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on heavy equipment and material handling systems, including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams, including training and coaching on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, service, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of services and support to customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry developments, and apply this knowledge to improve our services and support.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year vocational education certificate or equivalent knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum 48-60 months of experience in the heavy equipment and material handling industry, with a strong background in technical repair and maintenance.
  • Triple Master Technician certification or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and potentially hazardous materials.

The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, as well as the ability to travel frequently to customer sites and other locations as needed.
